Businesses unite against Truss’ law-breaking NI Protocol Bill

A statement from NI Business Brexit Working Group has said the NI Protocol Bill and "create a myriad of reputational, legal and commercial risks".

The consortium which represents 85% of business in Northern Ireland has called on the UK and EU to redouble efforts to resolve the impasse over the issue.

Stephen Farry, North Down MP and member of the cross party UK Trade and Business Commission said,

“Businesses in Northern Ireland have been categorical that far from the certainty they need to weather the challenging economic headwinds, Liz Truss’ law-breaking bill will only cause them greater difficulty.

“Whoever emerges as the next UK Prime Minister must listen to the majority of people and businesses in Northern Ireland who want an end to threats and the resumption of meaningful negotiation to resolve outstanding issues with the UK government’s Brexit deal.”
