NI Election would deliver neither stability or support for businesses

Welcoming an announcement from the Northern Ireland Secretary that he will not call another Assembly election this year, Hilary Benn MP, Co-convener of the cross-party UK Trade and Business Commission said,

"What businesses in Northern Ireland need now is certainty and support during what will be an extremely difficult winter. As an election would have delivered neither, I welcome this decision but politicians at all levels need to do their job to find answers to the problems we face.

"The NI Protocol Bill isn’t helping to build trust so the Government should drop it and prioritise negotiations with the EU."
