Paul Blomfield to become Co-convener of UK Trade and Business Commission

Labour MP Paul Blomfield will assume the role of parliamentary Co-convener of the UK Trade and Business Commission until the next general election.

He will join business co-convener, and Chairman of Virgin Group, Peter Norris.

Mr Blomfield has served as the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Central since 2010, and has also served on Labour’s frontbench as Shadow Minister for Exiting the European Union (2016 to 2020) and then Shadow Minister for Brexit and the European Union Negotiations (2020 to 2021). 

Alongside this work, Mr Blomfield is chair to the APPG on students, co-chair to the APPG on International Students and Secretary of the APPG on Universities. 

Paul Blomfield MP, said,

“The UK Trade and Business Commission has made a huge impact and continues to do vital work, and I look forward to further contributing in my new capacity as Co-convener before.”
