UK Trade and Business Commission responds to government moves to cut red tape

Responding the announcement that the government will consult on recommendations to cut regulations for businesses, Naomi Smith, CEO of Best for Britain which is Secretariat for the cross-party UK Trade and Business Commission said:

"Many business owners will be bemused to hear the government talk about cutting red tape when it was their threadbare Brexit deal which created more bureaucracy than they've ever had to deal with.

“After hearing detailed evidence from small businesses, the financial sector, cultural industries and many others, it is clear that the best way to support business is to make trade easier with our closest neighbours rather than a bonfire of rules with an arbitrary one-in-one-out rule.”
